Week 1 Intro: Digital Photography. The next six weeks will be dedicated to posting class notes for the Adult Education Intro to Digital Photography class I teach. Whenever I teach the class students ask me to send them copies of the slides and the web links I talk about in class. Starting with the session that begins today, I will post the slides right here after each class and you can come to that week’s post to review them, download them or print them. Free!
I also have the web links posted on the Ron’s Resources Page. I continually add to this list of links when I find good, educational materials or resources for researching equipment or stimulating creative ideas. If you have any links you think would be good to add, let me know and I’ll check them out.
One reason I created this blog was to be a resource for my former and current students to continue their learning. Please let me know how it’s working for you by posting your comments or suggestions. Thanks!
Week 1: Introductions and class overview
In our first week we reviewed the curriculum of the course and discussed several photographic terms and computer terms you will need to be familiar with.
We talked about the various types of digital cameras and which type is best suited for your individual needs.
I gave my assertion that you learn more from your bad pictures than you do from your good pictures. You improve your skills the most by analyzing your bad pictures and figuring out what went wrong and how to do it better next time.
This Blog has many resources for you:
- Blog Posts: Has many of the concepts we discuss in class in greater detail as well as many other topics.
- Ron Resources: Has several web links I mentioned in class that are useful and educational.
- Ron’s Recommendations: My recommendations for cameras and accessories.
Please explore my Blog; I created it for you -my students.
Next week: Science vs. Art
